Using sociological perspectives of conflict theory, symbolic interactionism, rational choice/exchange and functionalism, discuss how homelessness could be explained.   

For this task, you are required to locate, read and analyse 10 academic sources that will assist you in responding to the topic in preparation for writing your academic essay (Assessment 3)  You can use your textbook as one of the sources.

Homeless Adults, Technology and literary Practice The importance of technology in literary practices for homeless adults and how they use these two tools for social and cultural acceptance. Technology provides the opportunity in the literary practice and the aim of this study is to research in-depth so that the cultural aspect of the homeless students will not sacrificed. In order to properly understand how many homeless people have access to technology and the importance of literary practice on homeless people, 22 participants have been taken.The data collection process lasts for six months and there were 40 minutes of transcript audio which plays an important role for analysisLocation is in the U.S.In the methodology section, qualitative data analysis has been used. All the data collection, data analysis conducted to understand the importance of technology in literary practices for homeless adults. The limitation such as survey in one area, limitation in selection of age group is also given in the methodology.The findings refer that most of the participants use their own mobile phone and television. However, they were unable to use a mobile phone in their literary work for the long term as they did not have free data.Further, this kind of survey can be conducted regarding the importance of technology for homeless persons and the acceptance of the research will be more viable. Even, this work will help in the development of homeless adults.
Homeless Individuals’ Social Construction of a Park: A Symbolic
Interactionist Perspective
The aim of the study is to understand the main reason behind the use of public parks by the homeless persons and why different confliction happens between the housed residents and homeless person regarding the park. The researcher has selected 10 participants and among them all are homeless. In 2018 this research work has been completed with the persons who were out of the home. The range varied from 6 months to 20 years.The location of the study was in the U.S.The methodology is the consolidation of the data collection method, study setting, ethical consideration, and data analysis. In the ethical part, the researcher has given all the information such as recording of audio, risk of work etc and followed the snowball sampling and 10 interview sessions. The data analysis conducted through thematic analysis.The findings refer that participants use the park as their safety hub, network hub and resource hub. Even it has been used for their shared meaning. Further, this study can be continued with great efficiency and it could be possible to change the current scenario of the parks by understanding the mindset of the homeless persons. 
Grounding international service learning in sociology: homelessness in Russia The aim of the theory is to compare the condition of the homeless people or the homelessness in Russia and U.S depending upon the data, concept and sociological theories. In this case, there are 7 students who have registered themselves for understanding the course are the main participants. To complete this research work students have participated in the field trip of st. Petersburg and there are different journals and class discussion used for data collection. Qualitative data comes from the pre-test follow up questions and journals. The location of this research works is in Russia because students have participated in the field works which are located in Russia. Methodology for this research work used qualitative and quantitative. In the primary data collection method, the students have gone to the different locations of Russia and participated three to four times in fieldwork where the homeless people stay. In the secondary data collection method, they used the class discussions topics, journals, homework assignments and etc. The students understood the meaning of international service-learning and the importance of it in sociology. Even it has been founded that homeless is a result of victim-blaming and the students understood the difference of homelessness in Russia and the US.It could be carried further because this study has great potential. The comparison of the study further helps to enhance the condition of the homeless.

The aim of the study is to understand compassionate and improve the service for the human accordingly. Even, it also aims to find out the importance of communication for the young adults who were out from their home.  In this case, the author has conducted many surveys arbitrarily and collected data from them.The data are collected through the 23 in-depth interviews and these all are recorded. Even, each of the interviews is ranging from 13 to 70 minutes means 30 minutes average. The location is in the US.In the methodology section, the researcher has followed each of the steps of methodology in a minute manner. Even, the researcher has followed the iterative data analysis method to understand the current scenario. Even, the researcher has used the grounded theory’s three coding versions to increase the transparency of the data.The fining of the research work is that compassion is one of the essential things for each of the homeless person and they always emphasize on using all of the techniques of communication in a proper manner. Communication plays a major role in life of the homeless persons because improper communicational technique will deprive them from gaining compassion and it will head them towards more bad conditions. The scope of this study is very high and further, it needed to be studied with more in-depth knowledge about the subject. In-depth knowledge about the subject will help to find different aspect in a more prominent way.  
Offering the “Sociological Eye” to Examine Ethical Egoism at an
Illustrative Homeless Shelter for Men: A Pedagogical Exercise
The aim of the study is to identify the ethical egoism of the homeless persons and finding the social factors which have greater manipulation over the people of Chelsea place shelter for homeless men. The participants are those who live at Chelsea place shelter for homeless men and the numbers of men were 36 with no children. Within 2019 the whole research work has been completed and published with its results. The location is in Chelsea where the shelter is located. In this case, both the qualitative and quantitative methodology has been used and it can be understood through the execution of the research work. In secondary research method, different theories have been used such as confliction theory, structural functionalism and etc.  It has been founded that the people of that shelter competing with each other to advance of their own interest and the micro, macro confliction theories are very essential for the justification of different behaviours. Even, their it has been observed that when their own interest gets affected they acted adversely and this made the situations more vulnerable. It is directed that in further case the study need to be on the different section or the age group of the people who were homeless. 
Analyzing and Confronting Managerial Impediments to the Pursuit of Social Justice by
 Human Service Agencies
The aim of the study is to identify the respond of the social worker when they observed any confliction among their colleagues and community members.The researcher has taken three different case studies such as a juvenile probation officer’s dilemma, trouble at Betty’s homeless shelter and a management nightmare at Eliot social service to properly address the aim of the study. In 2019 this research work has been completed and published The location is in the U.S. In order to properly facilitate the methodology of this research work the researcher has used different case studies as a part of secondary research and even different questionaries have been taken regarding the case studies to enhance the transparency of the research work.  
The finding of the research work refers that a social worker should emphasize on providing the social service rather than thinking about self-interest, ethical egoism. Even, the importance of social justice needed to be understood and one should act like that.

In future, this research work can be conducted with a more viable manner and should have a real-time impact on the social workers. With the help more in-depth study of this research work, the condition of the social worker can be enhanced. 
Requirements for Emulating Homeless Client BehaviourThe main aim of this study is to identify the emulating client’s requirement that is homeless and what is the importance of the application of artificial intelligence to meet this requirement.  The number of participants in this research work is not exact and the researcher concentrated mostly on fieldwork and collection of data in an arbitrary manner.In 2016 the research work has been completed with a high level of efficiency. The location is in Canada as well as the United Kingdom.In this case, there is various kind of methods has been used. Interviewing has been used in the secondary data collection method and graphs and stats are used in the primary data collection method.
The finding refers that cognitive and environmental constraints needed to be taken at the time of recreation of the situation for the emulating homeless client and emotions, biology and experiences has numerous effect on the behaviour of the homeless clients.
In future, this research work will help to understand the emulating homeless client behaviour in a more extensive manner.
The campus of Opportunity: A Qualitative Analysis of Homeless Students in Community CollegeThe main aim of the study is to understand the causes behind the providing little attention to the youth who were homeless. Even, the objective is to find the institutional and interpersonal resilience for the students who were homeless. In order to properly execute the research work, the researcher has selected 4 students who are in Los Angeles for some time.The primary data were collected from southern California youth network in 2016. The location of this research is in Los Angeles, U.S.In this case, the hermeneutic data analysis style has been followed and the method of the research was qualitative research work. The research technique was personal narratives. Students who were homeless comprised of a large population that is invisible. It also beneficial for them as they were not feels stigmatized. There is further scope for this study because it will help to understand the current trend of the homeless youth and it will help to get desired attention also.
Homeless Canadians’ Perspectives on Homelessness in CalgaryThe aim of this study is to understand the current condition of the Calgary homeless people and their perspectives compared to the perspectives of the Canadians. There are 15 participants who were homeless have been participated in this research. The research work conducted from 2018 to 2020.The location for this study was in Calgary, Canada. The data collection one through in personal visitation, telephone and mail. The in-depth interviewing technique also used. The phenomenological design has been used to design the research work.It has been founded that there are many causes for homelessness among them gambling, no money, discrimination, addiction are very common. Reframing “Dirty Work”: The Case of Homeless Shelter WorkersThe aim of the study is to identify the underlying meaning of dirty work and understanding the current condition of caseworkers in homeless shelters.  There are 24 participants in this research work and among them 10 were males and 14 were females. Data are collected through 24 interview sessions with caseworkers. 110 hours have been spent to conduct these interviews. The sample was collected with the theoretical goal. The location is in the United Kingdom.The constant comparative method has been used in primary data collection method. In the section of data sampling the ‘theoretical sampling method’ has been used. Even the grounded theory used to conduct the research work. The finding of the study has reflected that dirty work and framing, interactionist theory has greater importance to identify the different definition of dirty work in a homeless shelter. The concept of dirty work is nothing but undesirable jobs for shelter work. Even different theories upon the dirty work help in understanding the process of identifying and defining the dirty work. Even, the process of reframing also described in a true manner.This study has huge potential to identify the different mindset of the shelter workers and the process of strategically dealing the dirty works. Even, this work can further studies in respect of demand or desire of the homeless shelter workers.
