1. My contribution to the introduction part

My experience:

The research was based on the impact of globalization in business growth and expansion. All of our group members contributed to the selection of research topics. I have contributed to this research by providing my view on the importance of globalization in modern business practice. However, I have contributed to the research project by presenting my understanding of globalization in front of my team members. The research question is developed as by deriving the answer to the research question it is possible to reach into conclusion (Wildemuth, 2016). I have formulated one research question among the research questions of our study. After that, topic approval submission was done and then team charter was developed in our study.

My learnings:

I have learnt many things through these stages of research. Globalization has increased the competitiveness in the industry, as a result, small businesses are expanding their market. I came to know that generating research questions is essential in research study as in this way research study can be conducted in an organized way. I have understood that Team charter has developed in our research which clarifies the direction of our team in research by identifying the boundaries. As in before, I have no such knowledge about team charter which I have achieved through this project.

2. My contribution to the literature review section

My experience:

In the view of Christmas and Gross, (2017), the literature review provides a deep understanding of the research topic by debating on the related area of the research study. The literature review process was conducted by dividing this section into a few subsections by our team. I have proposed to use google scholar in order to search relevant literature. As other members also proposed this, so that it was approved. After the completion of literature searching, I helped my team to summarize the literature. After that, I have contributed to outlining the structure of the literature review. Lastly, in order to complete this section, we wrote the literature review of this research in which I have written the introduction part.

My learnings:

I have gathered immense knowledge by contributing to the literature review section. Before, I had very little knowledge about globalization. However, in this section of this research project, I have achieved a depth understanding of globalization. In business, globalization is a process that generates interaction between the employees, organizations and business processes worldwide. According to Lesser et al. (2017), globalization has impacted on business as foreign investments are flowing in the industries of countries. On the other side, with the help of globalization, it has become possible to enter the international market easily by small organizations.

3. My contribution to the research methodology section

My experience:

After conducting the literature review of the project, we all team members have discussed the research methodologies. First, I have proposed to adopt qualitative research for this study. Qualitative research provides a deep understanding of the chosen research topic that helps researchers to reach the conclusion in a more specific way (Hennink et al., 2020). Therefore, qualitative research was approved in the team. As a qualitative method was selected, therefore, the research has collected secondary data. In the data collection process, I have helped my team members by collecting data from authentic websites. Other members have collected secondary data from journals, books, articles and others. Secondary data has gathered through an interview method for which a questionnaire was generated where I have contributed by formulating one question for the interview method.

My learnings:

I have learnt about research methodology properly through this business research project. I have provided my view on choosing qualitative study and another member provided an opinion about choosing quantitative methods. In this way, I have learnt about quantitative study in detail as well. I have experienced how to prepare an open-end questionnaire for taking interviews with the respondents. As for our research, we have chosen a non-probability data sampling method, so that I have achieved learnings about this data sampling process.

4. Reflection on my research experience

From analysing my entire research experience, I can depict that the research study was very productive as we have achieved the proper outcome of this topic. Along with that, I have explored different new phases of research practically which I did not achieve the opportunity to explore before.  Although I have faced a few issues with the study as I have for some years I was not sure about the direction of the research process. However, in this case, my team member has helped to overcome these issues. I have faced challenges due to the communication gap with my team timbers. Therefore, I have understood that I need to improve my communication in order to perform better in future research studies. I can say that I have learnt many new things through this research study that I will surely utilize in the case of the future research study. Along with that, I came to know that in order to research a topic in a group it is needed to have good communication skills in order to maintain the coordination of research study. As my group members were very helpful, therefore, they have helped to overcome the issues.

5. My written section in this research project

My written section:

As it is a group research project, therefore, we all team members have divided the entire research into a few sections to write it and complete it quickly. As per my team's decision, I have written the research methodology chapter. As I have provided my view to choose a qualitative study which was appropriate, my team members have asked me to write this part. I do not have broad knowledge about different stages of research methodology, though I have increased my learning through this project. I have understood deeply about the concept of research methodology. According to Kumar, (2019), research methodology depicts the different stages of research which are needed to identify first and implement properly in order to achieve the appropriate outcome of the chosen topic.

My learnings:

I have learned all the sections of the research methodology in an appropriate manner. I have included a research method, data collection process, sampling approach, sample size, data analysis and interpretation and questionnaire formulation in research methodology. I have researched every section deeply and included the different approaches of them in the research methodology sections.
